If you often tense up when others around you experience big emotions, such as anger or anxiety, tune in. These situations come up a lot during the holiday season when we spend time with family, but you can use the mindset shifts in this episode at any time of the year to center yourself. How we respond to other people’s emotions is typically ingrained in our brains as children. But now that you’re an adult, you get to take responsibility for your feelings despite what’s happening around you. You can allow others to have their emotional experience and not rush them through it or feel like it’s something that’s happening to you. Learn how to detangle yourself and co-regulate in a positive and empowering way.
